| Currently, 802.11b is the most commonly available of the three competing standards, and 802.11g has the advantage of being downwardly compatible with 802.11b. In environments where only 802.11g is activated, 802.11g offers a fast data transfer rate of up to 54Mbps, the same rate as 802.11a. If both 802.11b and 802.11g signals are present, the maximum 802.11g transfer rate is reduced to that of 802.11b. The VAIO Camera Utility lets
you make the most of the built-in MOTION EYE camera . Activating automatically
whenever you launch your own choice of communications related application,
it gives you simple, intuitive control over various visual factors. An easy
to use video quality function lets you select brightness and modify advanced
settings to change the way your image is seen. You can select from 17 different
frames to have your image accompanied by different shapes and patterns. And
the ability to change depth of focus means the other party sees only as far
as you decide. There's also a digital zoom function giving a choice of standard,
x1.5 and x2 magnification, and an on hold function that lets you decide the
image to display when you need to move away from the camera. Online chatting
is becoming more and more common, so why not take closer camera control — with

VAIO SZ58GN/C automatically chooses the proper aspect ratio and maximum resolution that the projector allows* and displays your presentation material accordingly. The aspect ratio of projectors is usually 4:3, while the aspect ratio of VAIO SZ58GN/C is 16:10. In the past, you had to manually set up the proper aspect ratio. But the Plug & Display function automatically adjusts the aspect ratio of VAIO (16:10) to the aspect ratio of the projector (4:3). With Plug & Display, there's no fooling with controls — just fast, trouble-free professional presentations. Simply connect, and make your presentation with ease!

S buttons offering convenient one-touch access to default or assigned functions.
In default setting, the S1 button mutes the volume while the S2 button reduces
the fan's operational noise. Either button can be assigned to turn on the Multi
Monitor function with a single press, versus 7 steps needed for conventional
models. This enhanced function displays one image on your screen and another
on a connected external monitor (a basic feature of Windows Vista®). The convenient
S buttons can also be assigned to other useful functions: to switch on the
external monitor output; to put VAIO SZ58GN/C in standby or hibernation mode;
to maximise screen brightness; to turn on SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio
Filter; or to launch VAIO Power Management Viewer, or any other
application of your choice. |

VAIO SZ58GN/C has optional Docking
Station VGP-PRSZ1* for convenient linking with peripherals to meet your business
needs. Simply place your VAIO SZ58GN/C on the Docking Station, and your VAIO
SZ58GN/C can be instantly plugged in to various connectors. If you want to
go mobile, remove your VAIO SZ58GN/C from all the peripherals by detaching
it from the Docking Station. A wide range of connectivity is available for
your enhanced expandability. The connections include a Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T)
LAN connector, a DVI-D connector**, analogue RGB connector, as well as a DC-IN and USB

type of fan, Complex Shroud Blade Fan. Its blades are specially shaped and
the air volume is increased for intake and exhaust during the fan's rotation.
Exhaust air volume is especially increased with the two-directional exhaust
vents while rotation noise is moderately controlled. As a result, excellent
heat loss efficiency and low noise are realised. Now when you work on your
PC for many hours, you can keep comfortable. In addition, VAIO SZ58GN/C offers
a utility setting that lets you prioritise "quietness", which keeps the frequency of the fan below a certain level. You can simply change the setting with the S button. |
