 As a production manager, I deal with a wide range of high-definition material like multimedia and HD(High Definition) content. And having seen what hi-def looks like, I really can't settle for anything less for my personal viewing either. The VAIO AR28GP gives me all the tools I need, not only to view HD movies but also to create my own HD content and share it on Blu-ray disc. But first things first. Whenever I get home from a hectic day at the shop, I like to kick back and relax over an HD movie, preferably with full 1080 resolution. The Blu-ray Disc Drive is ready to play the latest store-bought HD releases, and what's more, I don't have to hook-up to an external monitor to enjoy the full HD picture because the VAIO AR28GP is equipped with a 17" wide Clear Bright High Colour LCD that lets me view HD images with 1920 x 1200 resolution. Sound is superbly realistic as well, especially when Sony's Sound Reality audio chip kicks in. S/PDIF digital audio output is also provided for one-cable connection to my AV amplifier, as well as Dolby® Digital Live for 5.1 surround. And with its HDMI connector it's ready for the future, too. Now all I need is a bucket of popcorn, and I'm at the movies.

 At home, my VAIO AR28GP is essential gear for my off-hours entertainment. But amazingly enough, VAIO AR28GP is equally at home at the office. All the software I need to capture and edit HD material came provided, so transferring footage from my HDV Handycam to the hard disk drive was just a matter of launching the supplied DVgate Plus application. Then I polished it all up with Adobe® Premiere Elements using pre-installed VAIO Edit Components for added visual flair, and burned a sample Blu-ray disc for my client with Ulead BD DiscRecorder for VAIO. From capture to editing, the VAIO AR28GP's accelerated hard disk performance made possible with RAID Technology, teamed with the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 GT graphics card, delivered a stress-free experience. Of course, Blu-ray Disc is an ideal media for HD because of its enormous storage capacity, which also comes in handy when storing data. Here the supplied Roxio DigitalMedia SE software makes it easy to store approximately 25 GB of data per disc.
I love working with HD, and I love working with my VAIO AR28GP — because with it I can go from start to finish with all the editing and storage capabilities I need, with no loss of quality.

 When running, the VAIO AR28GP is a high-tech wonder that gives me countless hours of entertainment while I gaze into its high-resolution screen. Its sculpted form provides superior ergonomics that make daily routines like typing much less demanding. But what amazes me also is the sudden rush I feel when I close the computer screen. Because that is when I'm brought face to face with the exquisite styling of this machine. The magnificent sheen of its Premium Black exterior is unlike anything you'd expect in a notebook PC — with a lustre more like that of a fine car or a grand piano. The VAIO logo provides just the right accent, with one outside and another illuminated logo inside. Every subtle contour, filled with class, taste, and ergonomic meaning. Sitting atop my desk at home or at the office, or in a hotel room, it reminds me that top-class performance is only a touch away.
