Subtly embedded into the chic black surround that frames the keyboard are the LEDs that indicate operating status. The slim keyboard offers improved tactile feedback with a rigid 0.5mm metal base, an increase of 20% from the usual 0.4mm thickness, while the full 19mm key pitch and generous palm rest further contribute to typing ease.

Consummate connectivity
In harmony with the two-tone design, the I/O ports are black and are beautifully accompanied by the surrounding silver. For practicality, the ports are thoughtfully positioned for ease of access and connectivity, optical drive and modem are on the right, while on the opposite side are a PC Card slot, USB 2.0, i.LINK, headphone and microphone jacks. There are two more USB ports on the back, as well as VGA out, AV out and LAN port. And if that's not enough, there's all the added connectivity of the supplied Audio Port Replicator or the optional Port Replicator: when the VAIO A60GP is docked, a total of 5 USB 2.0 ports are available.
