PictureGear Studio Ver. 2.0 Sony's original PictureGear Studio software allows total management of your digital photos. You can import digital photos from your digital camera, then edit, organise and print them as you like, or create photo albums, postcards and labels for CDs and MDs. The 5 function launchers and user-friendly interface make operation a breeze! Launcher activates 5 functions PictureGear Studio has five major functions — Import Photos, PrintStudio, PhotoAlbum, PhotoCollection, and Binder — that you can start by clicking the corresponding icon. You can even create launcher shortcuts by dragging them to your desktop. Import photos from digital cameras and Memory Sticks. Simply by connecting your VAIO with your digital camera via USB cable, or inserting Memory Stick media, you can automatically import the photos you shoot and store them in VAIO's hard drive. The photos can even be named by shooting date to simplify photo management. And of course, you can delete undesirable photos from memory cards and customise import settings, such as to prevent the import of duplicates. Since photos are displayed as thumbnails on the screen, browsing through large photo collections is a breeze. •  Supported digital photo formats BMP/ TIFF/ JPEG/ PNG/ GIF •  Direct image importing You can import digital photos from devices via TWAIN or WIA connection, or from drives connected through USB or PCMCIA. Digital photos can also be imported from SD cards and Smart Media as long as the files meet the DCF standard. * Some devices may not be compatible with direct image importing. Create unique postcards •  Create postcards by simply typing messages into templates and following the step-by-step directions. •  Various templates for special occasions allow you to easily create birthday cards, moving notices, greeting cards and more. •  You can edit your postcard images by using the pen or stamp tool.   Create labels for CDs, MDs and more •  You can create labels for media including CDs, MDs, various videocassette formats, Memory Sticks and memory cards for games. •  You can select a template that matches your media and input the title or any other text message you like. •  Customise your label further by adding images, stamps and more text. All they have to do is double click the icon to start.   Create a photo album in only three steps! Photo album creation is exceptionally easy and enjoyable thanks to Photo Album, an application that guides you through three simple steps. You can choose from a wide variety of templates that present your photos in different orders and styles. In addition, you can add cover titles and comments to each photo if desired. Personalise your photo album with drawings, notes and more. Tool bars provide various pens, graphic symbols, and stamps you can use to write and draw on your photos. The photos can also be rotated and shifted to create your own personalised layout. To further expand your enjoyment, the photo album can be printed out and shared with friends.   Easy step-by-step creation Drawing tools You can save your photo album as a Flash file with navigation for flipping between pages, then attach it to email and send it to your friends. Versatile output options expand the possibilities. Using Flash output, you can display virtual pages of your photo album on VAIO's screen, and turn the pages just like you would in a real album. PDF output is now possible as well, making it easy to attach your photo albums to e-mail and send them to friends. Total image management When your VAIO is packed with digital photos, you can easily categorise and organise them by using the folder and tree display features of PhotoCollection. Digital Photos categorised under descriptive titles like "Family" and "Travel" are easier to find for viewing and creating photo albums and cards. You can also manage digital photos and use editing features such as trimming and adjustment of contrast and brightness.   Calendar View places photos in chronological order. Calendar View reorganises your photos by year, month and day, and is handy for determining the dates of photographed events. When viewing photos in the order of their actual occurrence, you can more easily recall details and relive great memories such as meals at restaurants and visits to historic sites. In an instant, Calendar View transforms your photo album into a visual diary. Print out digital photos with ease •  Printing is easy: just select the digital photo you like and indicate the number of copies you want to print out. •  Photo size is automatically adjusted to fit the paper size. •  The colour of the digital photo is automatically adjusted also. Create slideshows with music and dramatic effects. Easily create your own slideshows using still images stored in VAIO. Then throw a party for your friends! You can even add various effects, as well as background music selected beforehand or chosen from SonicStage software's "play list". Original screensavers with background music. Any still image in your VAIO can be transformed into a screensaver with ease. Moreover, you can choose a stored music file to play in the background, or have various songs play from SonicStage software's "play list". Add text to digital photos and file and exchange them with Binder. Using the Binder function, you can add text to digital photos, file them, and even exchange them via email with other PictureGear Studio users. Binders are saved using the same name as used by the sender. This makes it convenient to exchange diary entries or recipes on a regular basis.
