Conveniently located in front near the control buttons is
a Wireless Switch that links 16" VAIO GR with a nearby 2.4GHz Wireless LAN
Access Point with a single flick*. You can move around freely with assured connectivity
near your home or office: communicating with other devices, surfing the Net, sending
and receiving email, sending and receiving streamed video, or uploading images
and large files. Whats more, the new VAIO GR is compatible with both IEEE
802.11b and IEEE 802.11g (Wi-Fi) Wireless LAN standards.

| Currently, 802.11b is the most commonly available of the
3 competing standards, but 802.11g has the advantage of being downwardly compatible
with 802.11b and offers a fast data transfer rate of up to 54Mbps*, which is the
same rate as 802.11a. 802.11a receives the least interference from other signals. |

| As with all Sony products, the 16" VAIO GR exhibits
meticulous attention to detail. Well-placed metallic buttons not only serve to
simplify operation, but also enhance the 16" VAIO GR's distinctive looks.
The touch pad design is smooth to the touch for effortless operation, while the
metallic VAIO logo stands out as a stamp of excellence. |

 |
| Impressive! That's the 16" VAIO GR. Its size and distinguished
looks command attention wherever it goes. But as your eyes pass over its subtle
purple silver tint and sleek powder aluminium finish, you'll appreciate its elegance,
too. The 16" VAIO is indeed craftsmanship at its finest. |

| Round speakers, cleverly located near the hinges to eliminate
echo within the body, let you listen to your DVDs and music tracks in crisp, clear
stereo. Finished with ultra-modern speaker covers, they look as good as they sound.
Volume control buttons on the front edge of 16 VAIO GR let you easily adjust
the volume while typing, without using function keys. |

| A single charge of the long life lithium-ion battery will
keep you in power for up to 1.5-2 hours*. To minimise the risk of running low
on power and to maximise your operating time, the 16" VAIO GR also comes
with dual battery bays. Remove the DVD±RW drive, and replace it with an optional
battery (PCGA-BP2NY) to stay in power for a maximum of 3.5-4 hours*. |
