There are leading-edge storage methods allowing Windows Vista to run at optimum speed
With the Core(TM)2 Duo processor, 32GB of flash memory and among other things, this one machine can do it all.
Flash memory and a 2.5 inch HDD make an incredibly fast model with an amazing amount of storage space
The new operating system Windows Vista comes preinstalled on the new VAIO TZ. There are advanced features in Windows Vista like Aero which allows for semi-transparent windows and 3D viewing of folders, but this makes the operating system bigger and slower than Windows XP. This is why there is a model of the new VAIO TZ which has a Core(TM)2 Duo processor and high-speed flash memory to be able to run Windows Vista as fast as possible. The person responsible for this, as well as the BIOS and other software, is software engineer Yasutaka Fuji. He had this to say.

Fujii: I had experience developing the previous model VAIO TX loaded with Windows Vista, but I was convinced that to run Windows Vista on a mobile PC it was essential to have a Core(TM)2 Duo processor and high speed storage. For the VAIO TX series loaded with Vista we altered the machine to include internal flash memory, which I took with me to the planning for the VAIO TZ. At one point we had 10 different plans of how to add flash memory to the architecture before we narrowed it down to the one we ended up with.
AV mode was further improved to play MP3 files
Regarding proprietary software, the VAIO TX is loaded with the familiar AV Mode which has been substantially improved. The new features came about from Fuji's pursuit to make using a mobile PC fun. We'll let Fuji say more about the improvements he made this time.

Fujii: As with previous models, the new VAIO TZ loaded with AV Mode can play DVDs and CDs and display pictures taken with a digital camera, but it can also play MP3 files. It is now easier than ever to listen to MP3 files stored on the hard disk. We also made it possible to display stills saved to the hard drive. The LCD display for the new VAIO TZ can project both moving images and still pictures as clear as any television. I think people will be able to enjoy DVDs and digital pictures more than ever before. More and more the new VAIO TZ is being recognised as an excellent portable media player which I think users will enjoy whether they are on-the-go or just relaxing at home.
