The VAIO TZ was designed to place the bulk of the machine's weight where it belongs - right on the hinge. This central part of the PC is the core on which the flat top rests, creating a simple, strong form. The TZ's new cylindrical hinge is an advanced design based on that of the popular VAIO Note 505.

From the palm rest to the hinges, the gradual curves of this unified keyboard panel practically invite the hands to begin typing. Japanese aesthetics bring this keyboard to life as the high-grade specular finish of the panel makes the keys look like smooth rocks jutting from the water's surface.

We've installed a deep-green, high-luminance LED within the power button for enhanced visibility and creative high-tech styling. Offset by the plating ring, the power button looks like a single ray of light floating in the hinge cylinder.
